Benny Blanco & Calvin Harris Hit Top 10 on Dance/Electronic Songs Chart
Benny Blanco & Calvin Harris jump from 14 to 9 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart dated January 19th. Their song “I Found You” is the first top 10 for Benny and Calvin’s 17th top 10 on the chart. Calvin Harris leads the chart with the most dating back to the chart’s January 2013 launch. The Chainsmokers follow with 15 top 10s. “I Found you” jumps following the January 4th release of the charity version of the song with additional vocals from Miguel. Most noteworthy, the track earned 3.8 million U.S. streams, up 61 percent, and sold 4,000 downloads. This is up 388 percent in the tracking week ending January 10th. These figures are reported by Nielsen Music and are good for a number 20 debut on Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs and a number 6 re-entry on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart. Previously, the highest the song had ranked was in the 11th spot on November 17th. Additionally, Benny Blanco and Calvin Harris reached number 2 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay and number 4 on Dance Club Songs with their collaboration.
Furthermore, French producer Gesaffelstein and The Weeknd team up on the electronic track “Lost in the Fire” which debuts at number 25. “Lost” was released on Friday, January 11th, and the debut is based solely on over 7 million radio audience impressions. This is Gesaffelstein’s first entry on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and the Weeknd’s third. However, it is The Weeknd’s first as a lead act. The Weeknd has previously featured with appearances on Kavinksy’s “Odd Look” and Disclosure’s “Nocturnal”.
Continuing with the theme of the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, Martin Garrix also finds himself in the top 10th. Most noteworthy, this is his seventh, with his song “High on Life” featuring vocalist Bonn. The track reached number 4 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales in August.
