Social media posting can be a tricky task. However, if you are prepared and equipped with the right knowledge and content – you can make it work in your favor. Most noteworthy, when it comes to social media promotion, the time of day that you post is just as critical as what you are actually sharing. Social media content management is necessary for any successful marketing campaign. Furthermore, this promotes growth and organic engagement. Especially relevant, we are focusing primarily at United States audience. If your general audience is located outside of the U.S. you may want to research a time zone that is most appropriate.
Social Media Posting: The Basics
Starting out, if we’re looking at Facebook, we can see that the times have changed over the last few years. Seemingly, Wednesday is the best day to post for the most engagement and that is generally between the times of 11AM and 1PM. Most noteworthy, early mornings and evenings before 7 am and after 5pm have the least amount of engagement per day. It’s also worth mentioning that Sunday has the least amount of engagement for Facebook during the week.
It has been reported that the best times to post on Instagram is every weekday between 9AM and 11AM EST. With that said, there are days that this is more effective than others. For example, social media posting on Wednesday is the best day for the most engagement. Surprisingly, 5AM, 11AM and 3PM are the peak times.
Moving on to social media content management for Twitter, it seems the prime times are similar to other networks. However, Tuesday and Wednesday are the best days to post for organic engagement. Additionally, the best times for Twitter are 9AM on Wednesday and Friday. You should feel perfectly fine posting between 8AM to 4PM throughout the week though. Generally speaking, Saturday gets the least amount of engagement.
Using this information is a great way to maximize your social media posting. However, you don’t have to treat it as gospel. Utilize this information and run your own tests to create a personal guideline for yourself.
