Zac Brown Band Sits atop Top Country Albums with Owl
Zac Brown Band is back as they earn their fifth number 1 on the Top Country Albums chart on Billboard. Their new song “The Owl” comes flying in on top with 106,000 equivalent album units. Most noteworthy, 99,000 of those units are album sales, according to Nielsen Music. This data is tracked for its first week ending September 26th and will be posted on the October 5th dated chart. Additionally, on the Billboard 200, “The Owl” scores high as it comes in at number 2. This earns the band their sixth top 10 overall.
Zac Brown Band and the new album includes collaborations with many different talented producers and song writers, Among the list are Skrillex, Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, Andrew Watt, Shawn Mendes, and Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd. Additionally, the song “Finish What We Started” features singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile. With that roster of talented producers and song writers we should definitely be seeing Zac Brown Band on the charts for a while.
Perhaps most noteworthy, all five of the band’s Top Country Albums number 1s have launched on top. Previous number ones from the band are “Welcome Home” which reigned supreme in June of 2017. Boasting a cool 146,000 equivalent album units, 139,000 of the sums in traditional sales. Jekyll + Hyde scored on top in May, 2015, with 214,000 sold. Additionally, “Uncaged” hit the top spot in July of 2012 with 234,000 units. And lastly, You Get What You Give opened on top with 153,000 sold in October 2010. However, the band’s breakthrough album “The Foundation” started at number 3 in December 2008 and hit its peak at number 2 in the following March.
As far as their latest release, The Owl’s lead single, “Someone I Used To Know” ranks number 23 on Hot Country Songs chart and number 31 on Country Airplay. With time, this track is expected to rise in popularity.
