Brett Young on Top Country Albums Chart

Brett Young Finds Ticket at Number 1

Brett Young has notched his first number 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. The artist’s sophomore full-length, Ticket to L.A., has arrived atop the chart – dated December 22nd. Ticket earns 37,000 equivalent album units earned in its first week, ending December 13th. These numbers are according to Nielsen Music. Furthermore, 27,000 of that sum were from traditional sales. However, among all-genre albums on the Billboard 200, Ticket lands at a career-best number 15. This album follows the 37-year-old singer’s self-titled debut LP, which entered and peaked at number 2 on the Top Country Albums chart. That album boasted 25,000 first-week units. Brett Young first appeared on Top Country Albums with his self-titled EP, opening at number 35 in March of 2016. Additionally, the EP peaked at number 30 in February 2017. Most noteworthy, the 13-song album, Ticket to L.A. has 10 songs co-written by Young himself. The album was produced by Dann Huff, a producer Brett worked with on his first album.

Brett Young – Ticket to L.A. and More

The first single from Brett’s new album is “Here Tonight”, which was penned by Young with Ben Caver, Justin Ebach, and Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley. Rising from 24 to 18 for a new high on the airplay, streaming, and sales-based Hot Country Songs chart – the song is doing well. Additionally, it’s helped by a 22 percent burst to 7.7 million radio audience impressions. “Here Tonight” climbs from 30 to 26 on Country Airplay and also rises by 29 percent to 3.8 million U.S. streams.

Brett Young landed four top five Hot Country Songs hits and three number 1s with his first LP. Most noteworthy, the previous number 1s were: “In Case You Didn’t Know,” “Like I Loved You,” and “Mercy”. Additionally, his only other single, “Sleep Without You” reached number 2 on the chart.

It should be interesting for country fans to see how Brett Young and his album perform moving forward. Definitely an artist and album to keep an eye on.
