Justin Bieber Lands 18th Top 10 Streaming Songs Appearance
No stranger to success and topping charts, Justin Bieber is back with his latest release ‘Lonely’. The Canadian pop superstar released the track last week which was produced by Benny Blanco. Additionally, the song is co-produced and written by Billie Eilish’s brother FINNEAS. Furthermore, with top music industry talent like this, it is a no brainer why the track is surging toward the top of the charts. As Justin climbs into the top 10, this is his 18th song to reach this section of the Streaming Songs chart. Most noteworthy, this entry ties him with Lil Uzi Vert and Ariana Grande for fourth most in the chart’s history. ‘Lonely’ is currently sitting at number 6.
This latest release follows the single “Holy” which featured Chance the Rapper and the popular Ariana Grande collaboration “Stuck With U”. None of these songs were on the February released album “Changes” which leads one to believe that Justin Bieber should have a new album on the way. The numbers for the first week of “Lonely” reflect that the song debuted with 16.3 million U.S. streams. Numbers and data are tracked and reported by Nielsen Music.
One thing to note is that prior to the release, Justin previewed the video on Snapchat Sounds. This is the latest feature from the social platform and is an obvious aim at TikTok. With the ability to add music to visuals and curate songs from their database – this is a great music marketing tool. While Silicon Valley has yet come up with an answer to rival TikTok, major artists will promote on the platforms to urge growth. This is similar to an Instagram influencer making a sponsored post.
