Billie Eilish’s latest studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, has marked a significant milestone in her career, achieving unprecedented success. The album’s release from May 17-23 saw Eilish earn an impressive 339,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., the highest weekly sum of her career. Demonstrating her broad appeal and the album’s popularity, all 10 tracks from the album debuted within the top 40 of the Hot 100 chart.

The lead single “Lunch” debuted at No. 5, becoming Eilish’s highest debut and first top-five opening on the chart, surpassing her 2020 hit “My Future.” Other notable tracks include “Chihiro” at No. 12, “Birds of a Feather” at No. 13, and “Wildflower” at No. 17, showcasing the album’s widespread acclaim and fan reception.

Eilish’s impressive chart performance increases her total to 43 Hot 100 entries since her debut with “Lovely” featuring Khalid in 2018. This album alone has added 10 new top 40 hits to her repertoire, following previous hits like “Bury a Friend” and “What Was I Made For?”

Additionally, Hit Me Hard and Soft saw remarkable vinyl sales, with 90,000 units sold in the first week, debuting at the top of the Vinyl Albums chart. This achievement marks Eilish’s fifth consecutive No. 1 on this chart, further cementing her position in music history. She now holds the second-most No. 1s among solo women on the Vinyl Albums chart, only behind Taylor Swift, and continues to showcase her enduring influence and popularity in the music industry.
