Concert for Carolina: Music Legends Unite for Hurricane Helene Relief

The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene has sparked a powerful response from the music community, with artists coming together for a remarkable event, Concert for Carolina. Organized by North Carolina natives Luke Combs, Eric Church, James Taylor, and bluegrass virtuoso Billy Strings, this benefit concert will take place on October 26 at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC. The event aims to provide much-needed relief to the victims of Hurricane Helene, which swept through the region in late September, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

Western North Carolina has been hit particularly hard, with entire mountain towns decimated by the storm. The hurricane’s death toll has surpassed 225, affecting North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and Virginia. In response, the Concert for Carolina promises to be a beacon of hope, with 100% of proceeds directed towards relief efforts.

The benefit concert will be hosted by ESPN’s Marty Smith and Barstool Sports’ Caleb Pressley, with sponsors including T-Mobile, Jack Daniel’s, Whataburger, Miller Lite, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. Presented by Explore Asheville and the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority, the concert also has additional artists expected to join the already star-studded lineup.

Proceeds will be divided between Luke Combs’ charitable efforts and Eric Church’s Chief Cares Foundation. Combs’ contributions will benefit organizations like Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC. Church’s foundation is focused on expediting aid to families impacted by the hurricane, ensuring quick and effective relief efforts.

In addition to the concert, Church released a new song, Darkest Hour, donating all publishing royalties to North Carolina’s relief efforts. In a statement, Church expressed his deep connection to the area: “These are our family members, friends, and neighbors… and they’re in dire need of help.”

Tickets for Concert for Carolina go on sale October 10, with a raffle and auction to follow. As more artists are added to the lineup, this concert is set to be a powerful display of solidarity and community, helping the Carolinas and the Southeast recover from this tragedy.
