Ariana Grande Scores 2nd Streaming Songs No. 1 with ‘7 Rings’

Ariana Grande logs the second-largest streaming week for a woman with 7 Rings. Concurrent with her number 1 launch on top of the Billboard 100, Ariana Grande debuts at Billboard’s Streaming Songs. The song is Grande’s third release from her upcoming album “Thank U, Next”. Additionally, crowns the list with 85.3 million first-week U.S. streams in the week ending January 24th. Most noteworthy, statistics and numbers are reported according to Nielsen Music. Furthermore, numbers reported are the largest since Ariana’s own “Thank U, Next” scored 93.8 million reported on the December 15, 2018-dated chart. “7 Rings” gives Ariana Grande the 10th-biggest streaming week ever. Additionally, the second-best week for a woman. Taylor Swift narrowly tops the list with “Look What You Made Me Do” which scored 84.5 million in September 2017.

Drake is able to boast the greatest streaming week for any artist with 116.1 million streams for “In My Feelings” in July 2018. Grande becomes the second woman to land a pair of debuts on top of Streaming Songs in the list’s six-year history. Taylor Swift is the only other woman to achieve this feat with “Blank Space” and “Look”.

 

7 Rings was released on Republic Records and is the 1,083rd number 1 in the Hot 100’s 60-year history. Following the January 18th premiere of the song and its official video, “Rings” also lands number 1 on Digital Song Sales with 96,000 downloads sold. Grande adds her fifth number 1 to her total. Furthermore, this is the best week for a female since Ariana’s “No Tears Left to Cry” with 100,000 in May. “Rings” additionally arrives at number 39 on Radio Songs with 27.5 million audience impressions in its first full tracking week. The song is the radio follow-up to “Next” and follows the song “Imagine” which debuted and peaked at number 24 on the Hot 100.
