The sky remains the limit for Taylor Swift as “Opalite” surges seven spots to claim No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated Feb. 28, 2026. The track becomes Swift’s 14th career Hot 100 leader.
With the achievement, Swift ties Rihanna for the third most No. 1s in the chart’s history, trailing only The Beatles with 20 and Mariah Carey with 19. “Opalite” also marks Swift’s ninth No. 1 of the 2020s, extending her record for the most leaders this decade.
“Opalite” is the second Hot 100 No. 1 from her 2025 album The Life of a Showgirl, following “The Fate of Ophelia,” which ruled for a personal best 10 weeks beginning in October. The project becomes just the second Swift album to generate multiple Hot 100 leaders, after 1989 produced three between 2014 and 2015.
Originally debuting at No. 2 in October, “Opalite” ascends to the summit fueled by a major sales surge tied to newly shipped physical singles and a wave of fresh remixes. The song’s official music video, released earlier in February, also contributed to renewed interest.
During the Feb. 13 to 19 tracking week, “Opalite” earned 11.4 million official U.S. streams, 58.9 million radio airplay audience impressions and sold 168,000 copies. The sales figure represents the song’s strongest driver, jumping 2,290 percent week over week.
On the component charts, “Opalite” rises to a new No. 3 peak on Radio Songs and blasts to No. 1 on Digital Song Sales, becoming Swift’s record extending 31st leader on the latter chart. It slips to No. 17 on Streaming Songs after previously reaching No. 2.
Of the 168,000 copies sold, 144,000 were physical singles, including six CD editions and one vinyl version, while 24,000 were digital downloads. Official remixes by BUNT., Chris Lake, Ely Oaks and Skream, along with an acoustic mix and instrumental version, were released during the tracking frame and made available for purchase and streaming. Extended audio versions of the music video were also issued.
The total marks the highest overall weekly sales sum since Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town” in 2023 and the biggest physical sales week since Travis Scott’s “4X4” in 2025.
Elsewhere on the Hot 100, Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might” climbs to No. 1 on the Radio Songs chart.
With “Opalite” now atop the Hot 100, Swift continues to extend her dominance across streaming, radio and sales, further solidifying her place among the chart’s most historic performers.
