In honor of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary, Amazon Music has lined up a special livestream event. On August 10, Grammy-nominated rapper Ja Rule will be headlining the last installment of Amazon Music’s “50 & Forever” City Sessions series.
Amazon Music’s “50 & Forever” series is a tribute to hip-hop’s influence and culture. Curated by Amazon Music’s hip-hop and R&B brand, Rotation, the series includes livestreams, playlists, and original content. The series has been showcased on platforms like Amazon Music, Twitch, Audible, Prime Video, and Amp. Ja Rule’s performance will mark the conclusion of the “50 & Forever” City Sessions series by Amazon Music. The performance will take place on The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City, just a day before hip-hop’s milestone anniversary.
Throughout the summer, the Amazon Music Twitch channel has been streaming content weekly in anticipation of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary on August 11. The recent City Session livestream from Atlanta featured Jeezy, T.I., and Young Dro. Amazon Music has also presented exclusive live performances from other hip-hop artists like Rick Ross, Wale, Clipse, Joey Bada$$, and Curren$y.
With multiple top ten hits and two chart-topping albums, Ja Rule has left a significant impact on the music scene. His performance for Amazon Music’s “50 & Forever” series promises to be a fitting homage to the genre’s legacy.
