Jack Harlow Recognized As the SESAC Songwriter of the Year

Jack Harlow secured the title of Songwriter of the Year for the third consecutive year at the 2023 SESAC (Society of European Stage Authors and Composers) Music Awards, held at Hollywood’s Highlight Room on September 19th. Held by the prominent music licensing company SESAC, the award recognizes Jack Harlow for his songwriting ability in creating chart topping tracks like, “First Class”.

Sony Music Publishing also repeated their victory as Publisher of the Year for the second year, amassing 12 awards. Their winning compositions encompassed tracks like “First Class,” “We Go Up” by Nicki Minaj and Fivio Foreign, “Count Me Out” by Kendrick Lamar, and “Mercury” by Steve Lacy.

Noteworthy award recipients also included Daniel Lopatin, earning four awards for his collaboration with The Weeknd; Dez Wright, recognized for contributions to Young Thug and Drake’s work; and Jimmy Napes, acknowledged for his compositions with Sam Smith.

Tamara Jade, an artist and SESAC songwriter known for her appearance on Season 19 of NBC’s The Voice, presided over the ceremony as the Master of Ceremonies. This marked the second year the awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles.
