Louisville, Kentucky native Jack Harlow has reached the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with “What’s Poppin”. The track moves from the 13th position to number 10. This is the first time the song has found its way into the upper echelon of the chart in its 17-week history. Furthermore, Jack finds himself in line with all rap hits. “What’s Poppin” attributes most of its strength to streaming as the song recorded 14.3 million streams in the U.S. last week. These numbers are tracked and reported by Nielsen Music and MRC Data. Additionally, streams are up 3% from the previous week.
However, while streams are up, sales have fallen 3% to 2,000 downloads. Regarding radio play, Jack has seen his audience growing to 9.5 million which equates to a 12% increase from the previous week. Additionally, after seeing a 6% boost on the Rhythmic Songs chart, Harlow shows out with a jump to the top 10 there as well. It is no secret that the music industry sees a lot of turnover between popular artists and it is a difficult task to stick around. However, Jack Harlow may stand to test the odds. Thanks to a dedicated work ethic, Jack has remained consistent since signing his record deal. Releasing three projects since 2018, Loose, Confetti (2019), and Sweet Action, his most recent effort in 2020. Furthermore, looking at the Kentucky rappers’ body of work, he has consistently dropped an album or mixtape every year. With a focus on the future and making hit records, this is an artist to watch! hairy woman
