NFL superstars Travis and Jason Kelce are making headlines following the release of their charity-single “Fairytale of Philadelphia” on November 15th. The track has found itself at the top of the iTunes download charts.
The holiday single, a distinctive rendition of The Pogues’ 1987 track “Fairytale of New York,” precedes the upcoming Christmas album by the Philly Specials, a collaborative project featuring Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, and Jordan Mailata from the Philadelphia Eagles. The album’s proceeds will contribute to charitable causes, including the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
The Kelces, in their latest episode of the podcast, credited a significant portion of their success to the devoted Swifties, Taylor Swift’s fanbase. Jason Kelce, alongside expressing thanks to the New Heights listeners, specifically acknowledged the Swifties, stating, “We owe a big thanks to one group in particular, besides the 92 percenters, and that’s the Swifties because the Swifties came out.” Travis Kelce echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the substantial impact of Swift’s dedicated fan community.
Beyond iTunes, “Fairytale of Philadelphia” has even landed on the BillBoard charts, marking the Kelce brothers’ debut.
