Jonas Brothers Aiming for Number 1 Debut with Sucker
Jonas Brothers have come back in a big way. Their new single “Sucker” is heading for a possible number 1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, dated March 16th. This song would mark the sibling’s first Hot 100 leader after the 16 charted titles between 2007 to 2009. Furthermore, the group landed another in 2013. Most noteworthy, Nick and crew have scored two Hot 100 top 10s with “Burnin’ Up” at number 5 and “Tonight” at number 8. Both records charted in 2008. Additionally, the Hot 100 blends weekly streaming, airplay, and sales data – the boys were really in the mix this week.
Jonas Brothers released “Sucker” on Republic Records and based on building-week data, the song is expected to fly in with over 40 million U.S. streams. Especially relevant, 25 million radio audience impressions and 80,000 downloads sold after its first full week of tracking. Very solid. The song charted after its first three days of availability. Additionally, it was released alongside its official video at midnight on March 1st. To further their relevance within pop culture this past week, the bros spent a week-long residency this week on CBS with James Corden on The Late Late Show.
“Sucker” could bring the second number 1 debut of 2019 on the Hot 100. Ariana Grande did it first with her song “7 Rings” back in early February. However, only one song by a group has ever launched on top of the Hot 100. Aerosmith accomplished this feat with “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” back in September of 1998. It’s worth noting that while “Sucker” is the first single for the Jonas Brothers since 2013, Nick landed at number 7 with the Hot 100 hit “Jealous” in 2015. Additionally, as a member of DNCE, Joe found himself at number 9 with the song “Cake by the Ocean”. срочный займ
