After the success of two Vultures collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, Kanye West—now officially known as Ye—is shifting his focus to his highly anticipated solo album, Bully. The rapper gave fans a thrilling glimpse of what’s to come by revealing the album’s cover art on Instagram on Wednesday, October 23.
The artwork, shot by acclaimed Japanese photographer Daidō Moriyama, features a haunting black-and-white image of a person grinning widely, with some speculating it could be Ye himself, showcasing his titanium grill. The choice of photographer and visual theme has already sparked conversation, with the culture site Outpump suggesting the image draws inspiration from “ohaguro,” an ancient Japanese tradition where teeth are dyed black, symbolizing maturity, marriage, and beauty.
As speculation continues about the meaning behind the cover, fans are buzzing with excitement. One Instagram user wrote, “This album is about to be insane,” while another commented, “Three albums in one year. Amazing.” With Bully, it seems Ye is on track to end the year with yet another musical statement, following the earlier releases of Vultures 1 in February and Vultures 2 in August, both of which dominated the charts.

Adding to the intrigue, journalist Touré recently shared insights into Ye’s creative process, revealing that the rapper has relocated to Tokyo, where he has been working tirelessly on the album. According to Touré’s October 11 Instagram post, Ye is recording the entire album in his Tokyo hotel room, a unique and personal setting for the deeply conceptual project. Unlike his previous works, Ye plans to be the sole producer of Bully, a notable shift from his typical collaborative approach.
Fans were recently treated to the debut of “Beauty and the Beast” during Ye’s China tour, which many believe will be the lead single for Bully. A dreamy visual for the track was also released on Ye’s website, further heightening anticipation.
While there’s no official release date for Bully yet, one thing is clear: Yeezy season is far from over.
