Lil Uzi Vert Scores 22 Songs on Hot 100 Chart
After a massive week, Lil Uzi Vert sits on top with hip hop royalty as one of three artists to have 22 songs on the chart simultaneously. The others? Drake and Lil Wayne. The 22 songs on the latest Billboard Hot 100 includes all 14 tracks added to the deluxe edition of the new LP Eternal Atake. Furthermore, on top of landing so many records on the chart, Eternal Atake is chilling at number one for its second week on Billboard 200 with 247,000 equivalent album units. This information is tracked and reported by Nielsen Music.
As previously mentioned, after becoming only the third artist in the history of the Hot 100 to chart 20 songs in its first week, Uzi joins elite company. Drake has accomplished this feat three times and holds the record for the most concurrent entries. The Canadian MC had 27 songs on the July 2018 chart when Scorpion debuted atop of the Billboard 200. Lil Wayne’s history was made when his LP Tha Carter V sat on top of the charts back in October 2018. After the 14 debuts due to the deluxe version of his album, Lil Uzi Vert has now accomplished charting 62 songs in his career. Additionally, Uzi leads all artists in 2020 on the Hot 100. In 2019, DaBaby led with the most entries at 22.
It is quite possible that Eternal Atake would have most likely held on to the top spot for a second week without the help of the deluxe reissue. By the numbers, even if the album saw a 70% decline in its numbers, it still would have ranked over Lil Baby’s “My Turn” which showed out with 77,000 units. It should be interesting to see how Uzi continues to chart over the next month. Critics are already saying the MC may be looking at Grammy nominations for this album.
