Lizzo Leads Hot 100 With ‘Truth Hurts’ for Fourth Week

Lizzo has landed her fourth week on top of the Billboard Hot 100 with her smash single “Truth Hurts”. Most noteworthy, she is making history in the process of her run on top. It should be mentioned that the track currently boasts the longest run for a rap number 1 by a female artist without a feature. This record is the first time in chart history as she passes Cardi B’s three week run with “Bodak Yellow” in October 2017. The only other female artist to hold the title was Lauryn Hill with “Doo Wop (That Thing)” for two weeks back in 1998.

However, among all rap number ones by female artists, Lizzo is the first one to claim the top spot in over five years since Iggy Azalea did it with “Fancy” featuring Charli CXC. Iggy spent seven weeks on top but the track was a collaboration. It should be noted that “Truth Hurts” also takes over the top spot on the Radio Songs chart. This makes it the first rap song to top this chart in over a year.

In addition to these chart placements, “Truth Hurts” was released on Nice Life/Atlantic Records. The Radio Songs topping was a rise from the 2nd spot, up 4% to 116.4 million audience impressions for the week. As previously mentioned, the song is the first rap song to chart at number 1 on Radio Songs since Cardi B’s “I Like It” in July 2018. This ends a 60-week drought for rap songs. Especially relevant, “Truth Hurts” also finds itself on top of the Pop Songs radio airplay chart. Lizzo’s track totals a fourth week on top of Digital Song Sales, although it is down 12% to 27,000 sold. Rebounding on the Streaming Songs chart, up 1% to 29.4 million U.S. streams. онлайн займы
