Luke Combs Lands Seventh Career Multi-Week Number 1
It is no secret in the world of Country music that Luke Combs is on his way to greatness – if he isn’t there already. However, his track record stands alone on its own. Most recently, Luke has scored his 7th career multi-week number 1 single with “Does to Me” featuring Eric Church. The track has sat on top of the Country Airplay chart for the consecutive week. Furthermore, Combs is the first country artist in history to have his first 8 singles reach the top. Previous chart topping songs are, “Hurricane”, “When It Rains It Pours”, “One Number Away”, “She Got the Best of Me”, “Beautiful Crazy”, “Beer Never Broke My Heart” and “Even Though I’m Leaving”.
With a slew of new music being released post-pandemic, it is safe to say that Mr. Combs isn’t going away anytime soon. Most notably, of the eight number 1s to his credit, seven have rocked the top for multi-week stints. “Beautiful Crazy” spent seven weeks in the number 1 spot back in 2019. In whole, Luke Combs eight singles have spent 25 weeks on top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
Diving deeper, looking at Luke’s first two studio albums, he has made some history there as well. Combs has become only the second artist in the 56 year history of the Top Country Albums chart to hold 20 or more weeks at number 1 with their first two albums. Luke’s most recent studio album “What You See Is What You Get” has just logged its 20th week on top. However, the 2017 debut album “This Ones for You” spent 50 weeks as the top country album. The other artist? Taylor Swift. Swift’s debut album in 2006 spent 24 weeks on top while her 2008 album was there for 35 weeks. Most noteworthy, while other artists have had back to back studio albums dominate in this fashion, Luke Combs and Taylor Swift are the only two to do it with their debuts. онлайн займы
