Rosalía to Receive Billboard Hall of Fame Award at 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards

Rosalía will add another major honor to her career when she receives the Billboard Hall of Fame Award at the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

The Spanish singer, songwriter and producer will attend the ceremony in Miami on Oct. 22 to accept the distinction, Billboard and Telemundo announced. Rosalía is also a finalist in six categories at this year’s awards.

The Billboard Hall of Fame Award recognizes artists whose influence extends beyond musical performance, honoring careers that have achieved worldwide recognition while crossing genres, languages and creative disciplines. For Rosalía, the award follows years of experimentation that have taken her from flamenco rooted music to experimental pop, electronic production, Latin music and orchestral sounds.

Her international breakthrough arrived with 2018’s El Mal Querer, a concept album that blended flamenco traditions with contemporary production and helped introduce her distinctive musical and visual style to a global audience.

Rosalía expanded that approach with Motomami in 2022. The project became her first album to enter the all genre Billboard 200, debuting inside the top 40, while also reaching No. 1 on the Top Latin Pop Albums chart. Motomami ultimately spent 25 weeks at No. 1 on that ranking between 2022 and 2023 and supported her sold out Motomami World Tour.

Her 2025 album LUX pushed her commercial reach even further. Featuring performances across 13 languages, the ambitious project became Rosalía’s first Billboard 200 top 10 album when it debuted at No. 4. It simultaneously opened at No. 1 on five Billboard rankings: Top Latin Albums, Top Latin Pop Albums, Classical Albums, Classical Crossover Albums and World Albums.

The album also produced notable global chart moments. “La Perla,” Rosalía’s collaboration with Yahritza y Su Esencia, debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard Global 200, while “Berghain,” featuring Björk and Yves Tumor, also reached the global ranking. Rosalía recently completed the accompanying LUX Tour, which included 57 sold out dates.

The Hall of Fame honor arrives during another competitive year for the Billboard Latin Music Awards. Peso Pluma leads the 2026 finalists with 17 mentions, followed by Tito Double P with 15 and Fuerza Regida with 12. Karol G is a nine time finalist, Prince Royce has eight nominations and Bad Bunny follows with seven.

The 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards will take place at Miami’s James L. Knight Center and air live Thursday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m. ET on Telemundo and Peacock. The ceremony serves as the finale of Billboard Latin Music Week, which runs Oct. 19 through Oct. 22 in Miami.

For Rosalía, the Hall of Fame Award recognizes a career that has repeatedly resisted staying within a single musical category. From El Mal Querer and Motomami to the multilingual ambition of LUX, her continued reinvention has helped turn the Barcelona born artist into one of Spanish language music’s most globally visible and stylistically adventurous performers.
