Taylor Swift’s forthcoming Eras Tour concert film has already set a new record for advance ticket sales revenue. Still more than a month before its scheduled October 13 release, “Swifties” have rushed to the box-office, in an attempt to keep the “Era’s Tour Summer” alive.
AMC Theaters announced on Friday that the movie had achieved a remarkable milestone, generating $26 million in ticket sales on Thursday alone. This astonishing feat surpasses the previous record-holder, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which had raked in $16.9 million in advance ticket sales on a single day ahead of its 2021 release, according to AMC’s statement.
The demand for Swift’s concert film was so overwhelming that it shattered the previous record within a mere three hours after tickets became available. This prompted AMC to respond by adding extra showtimes wherever possible to accommodate the eager audience.
