Teyana Taylor Reaches the Top with The Album

Teyana Taylor Tops R&B Albums Chart with Latest Release

Teyana Taylor has released her new project “The Album” on Juneteenth. However, there should be no surprise that this is the top album on the R&B Albums Chart. The Album debuts on top with 32,000 equivalent album units earned in its first week. All data and reporting are tracked by Nielsen Music. This is the singer’s second time leading this chart. Previously, Taylor reached the peak in 2014 for one week with “VII”. Furthermore, the previous release “K.T.S.E.” reached number two back in 2018 when it debuted.

Most noteworthy, “The Album” also has ranked well on other charts. Scoring a debut at number 6 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and securing the number 8 spot on the all-genre Billboard 200. Teyana Taylor can now boast that he has had a top 10 album on the all albums chart for the first time in her career.

The Album features the likes of Lauryn Hill who guest starred on “Love”. Furthermore, this 23-song project features twelve guest stars. Most noteworthy, there have been some songs from the album which have come out already. Kehlani featured on “Morning” and that song gained some buzz. P Diddy’s son King Combs also jumped on a track. “How You Want It?” was released in 2019 and hit number 18 on the Hot R&B Songs chart. Other notable features are Erykah Badu, who shows up on “Lowkey”, Missy Elliot and Future who are featured on “Boomin”. And lastly, Iman joins Teyana Taylor on “Wake Up Love” which makes a jump from 25 to 14 in its second week on the Hot R&B Songs chart.
