Tyler the Creator has landed his first number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with his album “Igor”. The album tops the list dated June 1st. Furthermore, the project starts its journey with just under 165,000 equivalent album units earned. Most noteworthy, this information is according to Nielsen Music. Especially relevant, this is the second-biggest week in 2019 for a hip-hop album. Tyler can boast, that of the sum, 74,000 were in album sales. This is Tyler’s fifth studio effort and was release via Columbia Record on May 17th.

Previously noted, the album Goblin topped out at number 5 in 2011. Wolf found its way to number 3 in 2013 and Cherry Bomb to number 4 in 2015. Lastly, Flower Boy found itself at number 2 in 2017. “Igor” scores the second-largest week in total units for a hip-hop album in 2019. The only album “Igor” trails is Juice WRLD’s “Death Race for Love” which opened at number 1 in March with a little over 165,000 units. Furthermore, based on “Igor’s” streaming units, it’s notable that the figures translate to a little under 123 million.
